Government Endorses READY+ Model at HIV Partners Meeting in Lilongwe
Government stakeholders joined key partners at the READY+ Malawi Partners Meeting yesterday, reaffirming national commitment to youth-led, peer-supported HIV interventions targeting Adolescents and Young People Living with or most affected by HIV (AYPLHIV).
Held at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, the meeting convened representatives from the Ministry of Health, Department of HIV and AIDS, Department of Reproductive Health, Department of Gender and Social welfare, and youth development sectors. Their participation underscored the importance of integrating youth-led approaches into Malawi's broader HIV response.
The Ministry of Health and other government officials commended the READY+ Model for helping young people living with or most affected by HIV access treatment, mental health care, and sexual reproductive health services, and reaffirmed its commitment to work with partners in scaling up peer-led approaches that are improving lives and strengthening Malawi's national HIV response.
